From south to north
Out of Kuwait. A respectable one day visit, but it was raining and time to leave. Now I am enjoying the sights and sounds of Mosul.
Flying in a C-130 is an uncomfortable experience, for anyone. About half the seats have metal bars underneath, the "seats" are cloth netting, the plane is alternately too hot or two cold, you are usually packed way too tight. And that is just for regular PAX. I'm a leg, which means I don't have jump wings, which means I've never fallen out of the back end of an airplane. Sitting in a C-130, looking around, I can only imagine how much fun life must be to be packed in wearing a parachute and holding a ruck. But that's why they get to feel so special with their wings and ability to say "Airborne" over and over and over.
My stay in Mosul will be limited by the number of changes of underwear I have, which is quickly dwindling. Then it will be back to the daily grind at the Q.

If it's limited by the number of changes of underwear you have, I take it that means you have a say in how long your stay in Mosul lasts. Is this typical?
The length of my stay in Mosul is at my discretion, but that is not typical for a lot of people when they are traveling in theater. I'm in a unique situation as far as travel goes. Nothing special, just a function of my job.

For those parents out there who will call me to see if he got back to Q-West safely (you know who you are) - Yes, he's back home safely.
